More about me

Learning languages has been one of my greatest passions since childhood. My mum, a language enthusiast herself, signed me up for an after-school French club in primary school and I was hooked! By the time I reached Pate’s Grammar School in Cheltenham, I had already fallen in love with French and jumped at the chance to add Spanish. Inspiring teachers, along with private tutoring in Spanish speaking, gave me the confidence to push further, studying both French and Spanish at A-level.

That enthusiasm carried me far beyond the classroom. Before university, I spent a gap year au pairing in France, volunteering in rural El Salvador and earning my TESOL qualification. Later, during my degree in French, Spanish, and Portuguese at the University of Exeter, I lived and worked across Portugal, France, Panama, and Spain. Each adventure deepened not only my fluency but also my appreciation for the cultural doors that languages open.

After graduating, I joined the Civil Service Fast Stream - a valuable experience, but I missed using my language skills. I realised that what I really wanted was to teach and inspire others as I had been inspired. That led me to complete a PGCE at University College London and for the past three years I’ve taught French and Spanish at Ashcroft Technology Academy in London, where my students achieved excellent results at GCSE and IB.

Now, I’ve returned to my roots in Gloucestershire and am excited to offer online and in-person tutoring in French, Spanish, and English as a Second Language. I love tailoring lessons to each student, helping them grow in confidence and skill and sharing the joy that languages have brought me. When I’m not teaching, you’ll usually find me on the tennis court or walking in the Stroud countryside.
